Christmas is now officially just weeks away, which means it’s time to deck the halls. For me, the Christmas season is about cozy, low-key nights at home watching old movies, drinking Hot Toddies, and spending time with loved ones. So as I set the mood for what I’m sure will be a busy December I’m going to keep things simple much like the Christmas decor pictured above. Nothing seems superfluous about the Evergreen, Pine cone and Garden rose garland designed by Bloom and Plume for Who What Wear’s Katherine Power’s Beverly Hills home last Christmas: just the perfect combination of simplicity and comfort.
I strongly believe that the key to decorating for Christmas is to start with basic items you already own, like candles and vases, then build around them with greenery, pine cones, metallic elements, moody black lampshades and textured wool pillows. Also, when is doubt, dim the lights. This handy trick never fails when it comes to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
